“The Bear” – September 2005
The news that we were successful
with the 2012 London Olympic bid roughly coincided with the publication of the
July/August “Bear”. Since then we have
experienced the (unsurprising) disappointments of the Helsinki World Championships,
done our best to ‘see off’ another domestic summer season and been challenged
with important changes from top to bottom initiated by the work of Sir Andrew
Foster, Jack Buckner and Peter Radcliffe.
Now we must look forward and work
together – Road, Country, Track and Field etc – we are one sport.
Warwickshire County A A not only
exists to provide first Championship and Representative experience, but is a
link for Clubs, Schools, Associations Sportshall, Leagues etc with larger
policy making bodies. It encourages
Development, cooperation, in essence fostering teamwork, so young people can
enjoy the best of what Athletics can offer in the next few years.
