CONGRATULATIONS

To Bill
ADCOCKS, Coventry Godiva Harriers Secretary, on his election to the UKA
Members Council (Clubs Rep). Bill is very approachable and we believe that he
will serve us and the sport well.

And to
Dave MOORCROFT, winner of this yearŐs Ron Pickering Memorial Award for
services to Athletics. This is a Warwickshire hat trick following Tom McCOOK
(Birchfield) the 2004 recipient and Bill ADCOCKS in 2005.

ANNUAL
GENERAL MEETING
LetŐs have a good attendance at the
AssociationŐs AGM on Wednesday 29th November starting at 7.30
in the Coventry Godiva HQ. The Officers hope to bring you up to date with
changes affecting Permits, Levies and Road and Cross Country Officials
Licences. The Officers are also considering limiting their length of tenure. Propositions
and nominations for office should be sent to the Secretary, Stewart HARRIS.

COURSE – LEVEL 2
We have had a good response so far
to the Level 2 Officials Course which will be on 5th November at
Exhall Grange School.
It is not too late to join them É.

DEVELOPMENT
GROUPS
There were two well attended and
informative Development Group sessions in October at Coventry (Greater
Warwickshire Group) and Alexander Stadium (Birmingham Group). The Coventry
meeting covered Clubs/Schools links, how to recruit volunteers and Sportshall.
The next sessions will be in January 2007. Make sure your Club/Group is
involved.

COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP 2007
For those of you who now get
electronic copies of the Bear, the prospectus and entry forms are available on
the County Web site – go to www.warwickshirecountyaa.co.uk.
Otherwise paper copies are enclosed for you to copy and distribute around your
Club. Note the changes for the U/20 Men, the Seniors and Veterans. Please make
sure your entry comes in EARLY.

ROAD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2006
The 2006 season finished with the
Rugby 10 miles with over 100 competitors.
The winners were Chris STOKES (SM),
Howard ANDERSON (M40), Paul KELLY (M50), Graham PATTERSON (M60), Carol ADAMS
(SW, W35), Annette CARLING (W45), Marilyn MAIDMENT (W55).
Thank you to all the promoters who
supported County events in 2006. We look forward to working even more closely
with the Warwickshire Road Race League in 2007.

HYDE
Sad to report that Jack HYDE
(Sparkhill Harriers) recently passed away, aged 93. Those associated with the
County AA and with Officiating will remember JackŐs extraordinarily long
service as a Starter.
