Warwickshire County Athletics Association |
The bear – APRIL/May 2007
1 ENGLAND ATHLETICS
As from 1st April 2007 Warwickshire CAA has been affiliated to the new national body.
2 YOUR VIEWS COUNT
É and the Officers of the Association cannot be confident that they are making the right decisions without feedback.
For example:-
The Promotions Group will consider in July whether our Open Road Relays will be held as from 2008.
The March 24th event in Sutton Park was successful but there has been a steady decline in competing team numbers. Five Road Relays were scheduled in a seven week period this spring.
Whether supporting this yearÕs event or otherwise Richard Carney, Ray Morgan and/or Stewart Harris want your ClubÕs views.
Do we have the wrong date/weekend, time of year, format, venue etc?
Those who remember the Leamington Spa and Chelmsley Wood years will recognise the event has a considerable history but is it time to close the book?
3 Track and Field Championships at Saffron Lane, Leicester on May 12th/13th
Thank you to all supporting our championships to be held with Leicestershire and Northamptonshire. There is every prospect of a full weekend of good competition.
4 INTER COUNTIES COMPETITION
The County Track and Field Championships will provide principle selection opportunity for
Inter Counties Competition for the Seniors at Bedford on May28/29. Seniors not competing at Leicester but hoping to represent Warwickshire should contact Becky Freeman (0121 745 9948) or Ray Morgan (01926 330667) as soon as possible. There will be an U13/U15 Inter Counties match on September 8th – more details to follow.

To the very successful County athletes who made such an impact at the Sportshall Finals at the NIA on 22nd April.
